At Audiobook-Heaven you’ll find audiobook reviews from all genres, and for all ages, with more being added every week.Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Steven Brandt. I was born and raised in rural Nebraska and after 13 years “abroad”, 5 years in Kansas City and 8 years in Dallas, I’m happy to be back home in my native state. Since my blog is all about audiobooks it goes without saying that I have always been an avid reader, as many of you are I’m sure.
During the mid 2000’s I had a long struggle with various eye problems and that’s when I turned to audiobooks, and what a Godsend they were, and are, to me. In 2009 I lost my sight completely and a few months after that I learned to use the computer with the help of a screen reader. That was when I started blogging and it didn’t take long to put the two together. I created my first audiobook review blog, Reviews From The Deep in October of that year. In April of 2010 I had about 50 reviews published and I decided to revamp the site a bit and give it a new name, Audiobook-Heaven.
In October of 2011 I finally got the surgery I needed and I now have pretty good vision again in one eye, although the other is beyond repair. How exciting it was to actually see my own blog for the first time! I had to admit that it was pretty blah though, just a simple black and white design, so that was when I spruced the old girl up a bit into what you see today.
I am editing this page in June of 2012 and Audiobook-Heaven now has just over 300 reviews published along with a few articles and resources for audiobook enthusiasts, not to mention free monthly audiobook giveaways which have been going on all year long.
